About

The Isle takes place at a remote fishing resort on a lake, where Hee-jin, a taciturn woman, rents out floating huts to fishermen and provides for their needs. Her quiet existence is disrupted by the arrival of Hyun-shik, a former police officer on the run after committing a violent crime. Drawn to him despite his troubled past, Hee-jin develops an intense and unsettling attachment to the fugitive. As their relationship deepens, desire becomes entangled with cruelty, self-destruction, and emotional dependence. Hyun-shik struggles with guilt and despair, while Hee-jin's devotion takes increasingly disturbing forms. Against the isolated landscape of water and mist, their bond evolves into a disturbing struggle between intimacy and violence, revealing the destructive extremes of human attachment.
