About

The Bow takes place aboard a fishing boat where an elderly man has raised a young girl since bringing her there as a child. Living in near-total isolation, the two share an unusual and intensely possessive relationship. The man plans to marry the girl when she turns seventeen, and his bow serves both as a means of protecting their secluded existence and as a musical instrument through which he expresses his emotions and predicts the future. Their closed world is disrupted by the arrival of a young male fisherman who attracts the girl's attention and awakens her curiosity about life beyond the boat. As the old man's jealousy intensifies, the fragile balance between them begins to unravel. The resulting conflict exposes the possessiveness underlying their relationship and raises questions about freedom, emotional dependence, and the possibility of escaping a life shaped by isolation.
