Bad Guy
About
Bad Guy follows Han-gi, a taciturn gangster who becomes obsessively fixated on Sun-hwa, a university student he encounters on the street. After she rejects him, Han-gi engineers a scheme that draws her into a world of sexual exploitation, ultimately forcing her into prostitution. Trapped in circumstances she neither understands nor controls, Sun-hwa struggles to survive while Han-gi watches over her from a distance, unable to express his attachment except through manipulation and coercion. As their relationship develops within this brutal environment, the film explores the disturbing entanglement of desire, domination, humiliation, and emotional dependence. Han-gi's apparent devotion remains inseparable from the violence through which he exercises control, while Sun-hwa's changing responses complicate the distinction between victimhood, adaptation, and attachment.
