Decision to Leave follows Hae-jun, a meticulous detective investigating the death of a man who has fallen from a mountain. His attention soon turns to the victim's wife, Seo-rae, a Chinese immigrant whose composed demeanor and ambiguous responses make her both a compelling suspect and an object of fascination. As Hae-jun observes her movements and interrogates her, professional suspicion gradually gives way to emotional attraction. Their relationship develops through surveillance, fragmented conversations, and unspoken desires, blurring the boundaries between investigation and intimacy. When the case takes an unexpected turn, Hae-jun's feelings compromise his judgment, drawing him into a web of uncertainty that challenges his understanding of truth and loyalty. As the story unfolds across multiple encounters, the detective and the woman become entangled in a psychologically complex relationship in which love, deception, and obsession are difficult to separate.
