About
In a small South Korean town, an unnamed widow makes a modest living selling medicinal herbs and providing informal acupuncture treatments. Her life revolves around her only son, Do-joon, a socially vulnerable young man whose impulsive behavior frequently gets him into trouble. When a high-school girl is found murdered, Do-joon becomes the prime suspect, and the police quickly secure a confession despite serious doubts about the reliability of their investigation. Convinced that her son is innocent, his mother launches her own investigation, determined to uncover the truth and expose the person responsible. Her search leads her into the town’s hidden networks of deception, exploitation, and violence, gradually revealing disturbing details about the victim and the circumstances surrounding her death. As the evidence becomes increasingly troubling, the mother’s devotion drives her toward morally compromising choices, challenging the boundaries between maternal love, justice, and guilt.
