About

Set in rural Extremadura, Spain, The 7th Day chronicles a decades-long feud between the Jiménez and Fuentes families, rooted in an unhappy romance, jealousy, and a relentless desire for revenge. The conflict begins when Amadeo Jiménez abandons Luciana Fuentes, leaving her humiliated and embittered. When Luciana’s brother Jerónimo kills Amadeo, the resulting cycle of retaliation destroys lives on both sides and deepens the hostility between the families. Years later, Isabel, a teenage member of the Jiménez family, attempts to uncover the origins of the violence that has shaped her community. With the help of her boyfriend, Chino, she gradually reconstructs the painful history behind the feud. Yet the hatred remains deeply entrenched, particularly in Luciana, whose determination to avenge past humiliations drives the conflict toward an appalling climax. Inspired by the 1990 Puerto Hurraco massacre, the film depicts how inherited resentment and a distorted sense of family honor can culminate in collective tragedy.
