Such Is Life follows Julia, a struggling Mexico City woman whose life is marked by poverty, betrayal, and the collapse of her marriage. A former boxer, her husband Nicolás has abandoned her and their two children, leaving Julia to confront mounting financial pressures and emotional distress. As she struggles to preserve her family and regain some control over her circumstances, she becomes increasingly entangled in a world of resentment, desperation, and violence. As Julia’s circumstances deteriorate, she turns to Adela, her godmother, for support and advice. Yet the betrayal she has suffered gradually becomes an all-consuming desire for revenge. Facing the loss of her home, livelihood, and children, Julia moves toward a devastating act that transforms her personal suffering into an irreversible tragedy.
