Bleak Street

About

Inspired by a real-life crime, Bleak Street follows Adela and Dora, two elderly sex workers struggling with poverty, loneliness, and difficult domestic circumstances in Mexico City. Adela faces conflict within her household, while Dora lives in emotional isolation. One night, the women arrange to meet two twin dwarf wrestlers to celebrate their victory in the ring. Hoping to rob the wrestlers, Adela and Dora drug them with eye drops. The dosage proves fatal, and the men die unintentionally. Panicked by the consequences of their actions, the women attempt to conceal the crime and escape the authorities. Their increasingly desperate decisions lead them deeper into a grim world of exploitation, misfortune, and moral collapse.
