About

Fruit of Paradise, is a radical, surrealist reinterpretation of the biblical myth of Adam and Eve. Eva and her husband, Josef, are staying at a secluded resort when the arrival of Robert, an enigmatic and seductive stranger, disrupts their seemingly tranquil existence. Intrigued by his mysterious behavior and increasingly convinced of his involvement in a series of murders, Eva becomes entangled in a disturbing interplay of desire, suspicion, and danger. Through experimental imagery, symbolic associations, and an elusive narrative structure, Chytilová transforms the Edenic myth into a provocative meditation on temptation, sexuality, jealousy, and the precarious boundary between innocence and knowledge.
