Yamina Bachir Chouikh

Yamina Bachir-Chouikh (born 1954) is an Algerian director, one of the most prominent women filmmakers in Algerian cinema. Her acclaimed feature is Rachida, a drama about a young teacher caught in the violence of Algeria's civil war of the 1990s.
