Wolfgang Staudte

Wolfgang Staudte (1906–1984) was a German director, one of the central figures of postwar German cinema. His feature The Murderers Are Among Us — the first feature made in postwar Germany — became a defining work of the immediate post-1945 German engagement with the Nazi past. His acclaimed films include The Murderers Are Among Us, Rotation, The Subject, Roses for the Prosecutor, and Killing Kindly.
