Wim Wenders
Wim Wenders (born 1945) is a German director, screenwriter, and photographer, one of the central figures of the New German Cinema. He studied at the Munich Film School and developed a melancholic, road-movie sensibility influenced by American film and rock music. His work alternates between fiction features about wanderers and outsiders and documentaries on artists, photographers, and choreographers. His acclaimed films include Alice in the Cities, Kings of the Road, Paris, Texas, Wings of Desire, Pina, and The Salt of the Earth.
