Vladimir Bortko

Vladimir Bortko (born 1946) is a Russian director, screenwriter, and politician. He is best known for the celebrated television adaptations of Mikhail Bulgakov's novels The Master and Margarita and Heart of a Dog. His acclaimed work includes Heart of a Dog, The Idiot (television), and The Master and Margarita (television).
