Terry Gilliam
Terry Gilliam (born 1940) is an American-British director, animator, and screenwriter, the only American-born member of the British comedy group Monty Python and one of the most distinctive visual stylists in contemporary international cinema. He began as an animator for Python's television series and turned to direction with the Monty Python features before producing a series of baroque, design-heavy fantasies that have made him a touchstone for visually maximalist filmmakers. His acclaimed films include Monty Python and the Holy Grail (co-directed), Time Bandits, Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, The Fisher King, Twelve Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.
