Steven Soderbergh
Steven Soderbergh (born 1963) is an American director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor, one of the most prolific and stylistically restless figures in American cinema since the early 1990s. He famously launched the American independent film boom of the 1990s with sex, lies, and videotape, which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes when he was twenty-six, and has since alternated between studio commercial features and small-budget formal experiments, frequently shooting and editing his films himself under pseudonyms. His acclaimed films include sex, lies, and videotape, Out of Sight, The Limey, Erin Brockovich, Traffic (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Director), Ocean's Eleven, Solaris, Bubble, Magic Mike, and Logan Lucky.
