Steve McQueen
Steve McQueen (born 1969) is a British director and artist, one of the most acclaimed visual artists of his generation and a major figure in contemporary cinema. He won the Turner Prize before turning to feature filmmaking. His feature 12 Years a Slave won the Academy Award for Best Picture. His acclaimed films include Hunger, Shame, 12 Years a Slave, Widows, the five-part Small Axe (television), and Blitz.
