Stephen Frears
Stephen Frears (born 1941) is a British director, one of the most prolific and distinctive figures in modern British cinema. He came up through British television under directors including Lindsay Anderson and Karel Reisz. His acclaimed films include My Beautiful Laundrette, Prick Up Your Ears, Sammy and Rosie Get Laid, Dangerous Liaisons, The Grifters, High Fidelity, Dirty Pretty Things, Mrs Henderson Presents, The Queen, Philomena, Florence Foster Jenkins, and The Lost King.
