Sion Sono
Sion Sono (born 1961) is a Japanese director, screenwriter, and poet, one of the most prolific and provocative figures in contemporary Japanese cinema. His features are characterized by extremity, formal invention, and an unusually wide tonal range. His acclaimed films include Suicide Club, Strange Circus, Noriko's Dinner Table, Love Exposure, Cold Fish, Himizu, The Land of Hope, Why Don't You Play in Hell?, Tag, Tokyo Tribe, and Prisoners of the Ghostland.
