Scott B and Beth B
Scott B (born 1953) and Beth B (born 1955) were an American filmmaker couple at the centre of the No Wave Cinema scene in late-1970s and early-1980s New York. Working with Super 8 and 16mm on minuscule budgets, often shooting in lower Manhattan lofts and clubs, they produced confrontational shorts and features about violence, sexuality, and media spectacle that helped define the No Wave aesthetic. They separated as filmmakers in the mid-1980s; Beth B has continued as a solo director. Their acclaimed films include G-Man, Black Box, Letters to Dad, The Trap Door, Vortex, and Salvation!
