Roy William Neill

Roy William Neill (1887–1946) was an Irish-American director, best known for directing eleven of the fourteen Sherlock Holmes features starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce at Universal in the 1940s. His acclaimed films include Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, Sherlock Holmes and the Scarlet Claw, The House of Fear, and Black Angel.
