Robert Siodmak
Robert Siodmak (1900–1973) was a German-American director, one of the central figures of classical Hollywood film noir. He had a celebrated career in Weimar Germany before fleeing the Nazis, and after a period in France he settled in Hollywood. His acclaimed films include People on Sunday (co-directed), The Tempestuous Years, Phantom Lady, The Spiral Staircase, The Killers, The Dark Mirror, Cry of the City, Criss Cross, The File on Thelma Jordon, and The Crimson Pirate.
