Robert Rodriguez

Robert Rodriguez (born 1968) is an American director, producer, screenwriter, cinematographer, and editor, one of the most influential figures of the 1990s American independent cinema. He famously financed his Spanish-language debut El Mariachi for around seven thousand dollars before being signed by a Hollywood studio and producing a long, multi-genre run of features made in his own Austin-based studio, often shooting, editing, and scoring them himself. His acclaimed films include El Mariachi, Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, The Faculty, Spy Kids, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Sin City, Machete, and Alita: Battle Angel.
