Robert Guédiguian

Robert Guédiguian (born 1953) is a French director and screenwriter of Armenian-German descent, one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary French cinema. He works almost exclusively in his native Marseille with a recurring company of actors, including his wife Ariane Ascaride. His acclaimed films include Marius and Jeannette, La Ville Est Tranquille, The Last Mitterrand, The Army of Crime, The Snows of Kilimanjaro, A Last Drop of Wine, Don't Tell Me the Boy Was Mad, and Twist in Marseille.
