Ramin Bahrani
Ramin Bahrani (born 1975) is an American director and screenwriter of Iranian descent, one of the most acclaimed figures of contemporary American independent cinema. Trained at Columbia University, he became known for low-budget features built around marginalized immigrant and working-class lives in the United States — Latino street vendors, Senegalese cabbies, Afghan refugees — and has since expanded into larger studio and prestige projects. His acclaimed films include Man Push Cart, Chop Shop, Goodbye Solo, 99 Homes, Fahrenheit 451, and The White Tiger.
