Patrice Leconte
Patrice Leconte (born 1947) is a French director, screenwriter, and former cartoonist whose career has spanned popular comedy and intimate dramatic features. After graduating from IDHEC and a short period drawing comics for Pilote, he turned to direction in the 1970s and became known both for broad commercial successes — particularly the Les Bronzés series — and for elegant, melancholy chamber pieces that brought him international art-house attention. His acclaimed films include Tandem, Monsieur Hire, The Hairdresser's Husband, Ridicule, The Girl on the Bridge, The Man on the Train, and Intimate Strangers.
