Pál Sándor

Pál Sándor (born 1939) is a Hungarian director and screenwriter, one of the central figures of post-1960s Hungarian cinema. Trained at the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest, he developed a distinctive sensibility that combined modernist formal experimentation with a strong sense of the textures of Hungarian Jewish and provincial life. His acclaimed films include Régi Idők Focija, Bujtor István, Sárika, Drágám, Improvisation, Daniel Takes a Train, and Just Like at Home.
