Orson Welles
Orson Welles (1915–1985) was an American director, actor, writer, and producer whose career across radio, theatre, and film made him one of the dominant artistic figures of the twentieth century. After the broadcasting sensation of his War of the Worlds radio play and an extraordinary debut feature for RKO at twenty-five, he spent most of his subsequent career as a director patching together features under independent and European financing while his Hollywood standing eroded. His acclaimed films include Citizen Kane, The Magnificent Ambersons, The Lady from Shanghai, Touch of Evil, The Trial, Chimes at Midnight, and F for Fake.
