Oliver Stone

Oliver Stone (born 1946) is an American director, producer, and screenwriter, one of the most politically engaged figures in post-New-Hollywood American cinema. A Vietnam War veteran with several Purple Hearts, he established himself first as an Oscar-winning screenwriter — for Midnight Express — before directing a long series of features that have repeatedly returned to American foreign policy, presidential history, and the moral wreckage of the Vietnam era. His acclaimed films include Salvador, Platoon, Wall Street, Born on the Fourth of July, JFK, Natural Born Killers, Nixon, U Turn, Any Given Sunday, and W.
