Midi Z

Midi Z (born 1982) is a Burmese-Taiwanese director and screenwriter. Born in Myanmar to ethnic Chinese parents, he emigrated to Taiwan as a teenager. His features have engaged with the experience of Burmese migrants in China, Thailand, and Taiwan. His acclaimed films include Return to Burma, Poor Folk, Ice Poison, The Road to Mandalay, and Nina Wu.
