Michael Moore
Michael Moore (born 1954) is an American documentary director, author, and political activist, one of the most commercially successful figures in the modern American documentary. A former journalist and editor, he turned to filmmaking with the muckraking feature Roger & Me — an investigation of General Motors' closure of factories in his native Flint, Michigan — and went on to produce a series of feature documentaries that have become defining works of the post-1990s political documentary. His acclaimed films include Roger & Me, The Big One, Bowling for Columbine (which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature), Fahrenheit 9/11 (which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes), Sicko, Capitalism: A Love Story, and Where to Invade Next.
