Martin Scorsese
Martin Scorsese (born 1942) is an American director, producer, and film historian, one of the most influential figures of the New Hollywood generation. Raised in Little Italy and trained at NYU's film school, he emerged in the early 1970s with a series of crime and character dramas that fused Italian-American milieu, Catholic guilt, popular music, and an intensely kinetic visual style. He has also been a tireless advocate for film preservation. His acclaimed films include Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, GoodFellas, The Age of Innocence, The Departed, The Irishman, and Killers of the Flower Moon.
