Marco Ferreri
Marco Ferreri (1928–1997) was an Italian director and screenwriter regarded as one of the most provocative voices of postwar European cinema. After early work in advertising and as a producer in Spain, he turned to direction and produced a long, internationally cast body of work that satirized consumer society, masculinity, and the body with grotesque humour. His best-known feature La Grande Bouffe scandalized audiences and critics at Cannes. His acclaimed films include The Conjugal Bed, Dillinger Is Dead, The Audience, La Grande Bouffe, The Last Woman, Bye Bye Monkey, Tales of Ordinary Madness, and The House of Smiles.
