Liviu Ciulei

Liviu Ciulei (1923–2011) was a Romanian director, scenic designer, and theatre director, one of the central figures of postwar Romanian cinema and theatre. His feature Forest of the Hanged won the Best Director prize at Cannes. His acclaimed films include Forest of the Hanged, The Eruption, and Devious Path.
