Lino Brocka
Lino Brocka (1939–1991) was a Filipino director, one of the most internationally celebrated figures in the history of Philippine cinema. A central figure of the Second Golden Age of Philippine cinema, he produced socially engaged features about working-class Manila life and the political repression of the Marcos dictatorship. His acclaimed films include Manila in the Claws of Light, Insiang, Jaguar, Bona, and Macho Dancer.
