Leopold Jessner and Paul Leni

Leopold Jessner (1878–1945) was a German theatre director and Paul Leni (1885–1929) was a German director and art director. They collaborated on the 1921 German Expressionist feature Backstairs (Hintertreppe), a celebrated example of the Kammerspielfilm chamber-play movement.
