László Ranódy

László Ranódy (1919–1983) was a Hungarian director and screenwriter, one of the most accomplished literary adapters in postwar Hungarian cinema. Trained at the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest, he turned to direction in the 1950s and established himself with sensitive screen adaptations of major works of Hungarian literature. His acclaimed films include Abyss, Be Good All Your Life, Pacsirta, Skylark, Aranysárkány, No Man's Daughter, and Árvácska.
