Kristina Grozeva, Petar Valchanov

Kristina Grozeva (born 1976) and Petar Valchanov (born 1982) are a Bulgarian writing-directing partnership, currently the most internationally acclaimed voices in contemporary Bulgarian cinema. Both trained at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia, they began co-directing in the early 2010s with shorts before moving to features that blend deadpan dark comedy with biting social commentary on contemporary Bulgarian institutions. Their acclaimed films include The Lesson, Glory, The Father, and Triumph.
