Kôji Fukada
Kôji Fukada (born 1980) is a Japanese director and screenwriter, one of the most internationally recognized younger Japanese filmmakers. He trained at the Film School of Tokyo and at the experimental theatre company Seinendan under Oriza Hirata before turning to feature filmmaking. His features specialize in slow-burning chamber dramas built around outsiders who unsettle middle-class Japanese families, and have become a regular festival presence in Europe. His acclaimed films include Hospitalité, Au Revoir L'Été, Sayonara, Harmonium, A Girl Missing, The Real Thing, and Love Life.
