Ko Nakahira
Kō Nakahira (1926–1978) was a Japanese director associated with the youth films and modernist genre cinema of postwar Nikkatsu studios. He trained as an assistant in the Japanese major studios before turning to direction with the Ishihara Yujiro vehicle Crazed Fruit, a key film in establishing the so-called sun-tribe youth genre. His later career took him on co-productions in Hong Kong and elsewhere. His acclaimed films include Crazed Fruit, Summer Heat, The Hunter's Diary, A Woman of Tokyo, The Hour of Reckoning, and Only on Mondays.
