Kim Ki-young
Kim Ki-young (1919–1998) was a South Korean director whose unsparing, baroque features made him one of the most distinctive and rediscovered figures of postwar Korean cinema. His feature The Housemaid is widely regarded as a foundational work of Korean cinema and a powerful influence on directors including Park Chan-wook and Bong Joon-ho. His acclaimed films include The Housemaid, Insect Woman, Goryeo-jang, and Woman of Fire.
