Ken Loach
Ken Loach (born 1936) is a British director and screenwriter, one of the most consistent and politically committed voices in postwar British cinema. Trained at Oxford and then in television at the BBC, he made his name in the mid-1960s with the docudramas of the Wednesday Play strand before turning to features built around working-class lives across half a century of British social policy. His acclaimed films include Kes, Family Life, Riff-Raff, Raining Stones, Land and Freedom, My Name Is Joe, The Wind That Shakes the Barley (which won the Palme d'Or at Cannes), and I, Daniel Blake.
