Karel Kachyna
Karel Kachyňa (1924–2004) was a Czech director, one of the prolific figures of Czechoslovak cinema across more than five decades. A graduate of FAMU, he collaborated extensively with the writer Jan Procházka, and his features ranged across war drama, intimate family chronicle, and stylized adaptations of children's literature. His acclaimed films include That Cat (Cassandra Cat), Funny Old Man, The Ear, I'm Jumping over Puddles Again, Cow, and Waiting for the Rain.
