Julio Medem

Julio Medem (born 1958) is a Spanish director and screenwriter of Basque descent, one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Spanish cinema. He trained as a doctor and worked as a film critic before turning to direction. His acclaimed films include Vacas, The Red Squirrel, Tierra, Lovers of the Arctic Circle, Sex and Lucia, Caotica Ana, and Aspects of a Murder.
