Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti
Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti (born 1961) is a Cuban director and screenwriter, one of the most prominent voices in contemporary Cuban cinema. Trained at the International Film and Television School in San Antonio de los Baños, he has produced features and documentaries that engage with the contradictions of contemporary Cuban life. His feature Viva Cuba was an international success and he has frequently come into conflict with the Cuban authorities over the content of his work. His acclaimed films include Nada, Viva Cuba, The Sky Is Falling, Old Songs Bring Up Old Memories, and Verde Verde.
