Joachim Trier
Joachim Trier (born 1974) is a Norwegian director and screenwriter, one of the most internationally celebrated figures of contemporary Scandinavian cinema. A former skateboarding-video maker turned cinephile, he trained at the National Film and Television School in Britain and has worked extensively with his co-writer Eskil Vogt. His features have explored the lives of young writers and artists in Oslo and beyond, often with a self-aware, essayistic relationship to memory and narration. His acclaimed films include Reprise, Oslo, August 31st, Louder than Bombs, Thelma, The Worst Person in the World, and Sentimental Value.
