Jacques Deray
Jacques Deray (1929–2003) was a French director and screenwriter, one of the most prolific genre filmmakers of postwar French cinema. He trained as an assistant in the 1950s before establishing himself as a director with a string of taut crime features built around the major French stars of the day. His best-known partnership was with Alain Delon, with whom he made nine films across three decades. His acclaimed films include Symphony for a Massacre, The Swimming Pool, Borsalino, The Outside Man, Three Men to Kill, and The Mistress.
