István Szõcs

István Szőts (1912–1998) was a Hungarian director, one of the major figures of pre-Communist Hungarian cinema. He is best known for the feature People on the Alps, a stylized rural drama widely cited as one of the foundational works of Hungarian art cinema. His acclaimed films include People on the Alps and Song of the Cornfields.
