Huo Jianqi
Huo Jianqi (born 1958) is a Chinese director, one of the most established figures of post-Fifth-Generation Chinese cinema. Trained at the Beijing Film Academy, he worked as an art director before turning to direction in the 1990s and produced a body of work centred on rural and small-town Chinese life, often with strong female protagonists and a painterly visual sensibility. His acclaimed films include Postmen in the Mountains, Life Show, Nuan, A Time to Love, and One Foot Off the Ground.
