Huang Jianxin
Huang Jianxin (born 1954) is a Chinese director and producer, one of the central figures of the Fifth Generation of Chinese cinema. After studying at the Beijing Film Academy in the first class to graduate after the Cultural Revolution, he produced a body of features marked by satirical engagement with Chinese bureaucratic and urban life. His acclaimed films include The Black Cannon Incident, Dislocation, Samsara, Stand Up, Don't Bend Over, Surveillance, and Signal Left, Turn Right.
