Hideo Gosha
Hideo Gosha (1929–1992) was a Japanese director who specialized in the violent, kinetic samurai features that flourished in 1960s and 70s Japanese genre cinema. After a career in commercial television he turned to feature direction at Shochiku studios and developed a distinctive widescreen, action-oriented style that earned him devoted cult followings in Japan and abroad. His acclaimed films include Three Outlaw Samurai, Sword of the Beast, Goyokin, Hitokiri, Tenchu!, The Wolves, Bandits vs. Samurai Squadron, and The Geisha.
